OUTCOME 1

Leaders on one page

Goodyear’s Asia Pacific leaders left Thailand with a shared language for how to lead across the region.

OUTCOME 2

Leading by example

Leaders started to see their own behaviour as the biggest influence on how their teams perform each day.

OUTCOME 3

Tools for Monday

Easy techniques and a simple framework they could use in everyday conversations with their teams and peers.

THE CHALLENGE

Goodyear needed its Asia Pacific leaders united and equipped to lead through a demanding year.

Volatile markets and constant pressure on cost and delivery had stretched Goodyear’s manufacturing and supply chain teams across the region. Damien Schrobiltgen, Vice President of HR for Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain, invited leaders from across Asia Pacific to a leadership conference in Thailand.

He wanted a keynote that spoke to their real work, not a generic leadership talk, and asked Duncan to give the group simple tools they could use in everyday conversations with their teams and peers.

DUNCAN’S SOLUTION

A tailored high performance leadership keynote with a simple framework and a room that took part.

Before the conference, Duncan spoke with Damien to learn how Goodyear’s leaders work, where the pressure sits and what they’d want to use the very next day.

He customised the keynote to the event, then built it around a memorable framework, practical techniques and on-stage behavioural psychology demonstrations that kept everyone involved. Every idea linked back to the daily interactions leaders have with their teams and peers.

THE RESULT

A leadership group that left with easy tools for everyday conversations.

Damien Schrobiltgen said the content resonated deeply with the audience and left a lasting impact. He valued that Duncan customised it to Goodyear’s needs and gave leaders easy tools, techniques and a framework for day-to-day interactions with their teams and peers. In the survey, 98% of leaders said they’d recommend Duncan.

The audience survey below shows how the session landed with the people in the room.

THOUGHTS FROM DUNCAN

Leadership is mostly small conversations, repeated every day.

Most leaders don’t need more theory. They need something simple they can use in the next difficult conversation. So I build every keynote around a framework people can remember and a few techniques they can try straight away, then tailor it to the room in front of me.

Goodyear’s Asia Pacific team were thoughtful, curious and generous with their attention, and Thailand was a lovely place to spend a conference with them. I’d love to work with them again.
